10Siding & Exterior
The envelope that keeps Kingston winters on the outside.
Siding replacement, exterior trim, soffit and fascia, and rain-screen assemblies — with the building-science details that keep your walls dry behind the cladding.

Overview
What exterior work looks like with us.
Siding isn't just the look of your house, it's the skin of your building envelope. A good exterior is a layered system: house wrap, strapping, ventilated rain-screen cavity, and then the cladding of your choice. A bad one is siding nailed to OSB with tar-paper behind it — still code-legal in some jurisdictions, still the cause of hidden rot in a thousand Kingston homes.
We install James Hardie fibre cement, engineered wood (LP SmartSide), cedar shake and bevel, vinyl, and metal — but what we lead with is the assembly beneath.

Questions, answered
Siding & Exterior — questions we hear.
In most cases, yes. Fibre cement is fire-resistant, dimensionally stable through freeze-thaw cycles, holds paint for 15+ years, and won't rot or feed mould. The labour cost to install it is higher than vinyl, but so is the service life.
Yes — where damage is localised we can repair and blend. For houses older than 20–30 years with any visible flaking, cracking, or water staining, a full re-side is usually the better investment.
This is the best time. Flashing and integration work is the biggest cost driver of window replacement, and most of it is already exposed during a residing.
